About Natalia Shchipakina

1Exhibition

Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques, oil painting is my favourite.

Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by famous artists such as Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan and Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso.

About this artwork

Mount Fuji is not only a unique natural phenomenon, but also a symbol of Japan, which is known all over the world. Japanese speakers refer to the mountain as «Fuji-san».

This is to show their respect and honour. The picture is saturated with bright colours; natural pink shades prevail, which allows a contrasting effect (the blue sky and the mountain vs. the pink field).
