About Natalia Shchipakina
Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favourite.
Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso.
The painting Girl on the Ball made a big impression on me in my childhood.

This painting shows one of the most recognisable views of London — the red telephone box, Big Ben, double-decker buses, and glowing street lamps in the evening city. The scene is painted in bright expressive colours, with reflections and moving light creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere. The purple and blue sky contrasts with the warm reds and golden lights, giving the city a lively and slightly nostalgic feeling. I wanted to capture not only famous London symbols, but also the mood of walking through the city at night when everything shines after the rain. Oil, canvas. Signed and varnished.
