About Aleksandr Dubrovskyy

Mr Aleksandr Dubrovskyy was born in 1949 in Oryneno, Khmelnytsky Oblast, Ukraine.
He started painting early. Painting was his most favoured occupation, beyond all usual boyish interests and activities.
At seven he was admitted to the art school for children in Yenakiieve; at 16, Aleksandr entered Kharkiv College of Art (1965).

In 1969, after graduating from the College of Art, he travelled a lot and worked assiduously on portrait and landscape painting.
His continuing work at the academic villa in Sednyov offered Aleksandr a happy and unique opportunity to work together with, and learn from, such eminent painters as Konstantyn Lomykin, Fedor Zakharov, Nikolay Glushchenko, Viktor Shatalin, and Tatyana Yablonskaya. They profoundly influenced his artistic formation. Sednyov... this marvellous nook of Ukraine became the artist’s creative workshop.

Artwork

About this artwork

Mountain Lake in Autumn Colors was painted when the landscape was beginning to move from green into the warmer colours of autumn. Close to the water, tall grasses and dense vegetation contain yellow, gold, olive and rusty red among the remaining greens. The lake is much quieter in colour, reflecting fragments of the surrounding trees and the pale, cloud-filled sky. In the distance, the mountain changes the palette again. Its blue and violet tones create a cool background for the warmer vegetation around the lake. I wanted the viewer to feel close to the shore, almost among the grasses, with the eye moving naturally across the water toward the mountain. Original oil on canvas, 50 × 60 cm, 2026. Shipping from Poland. The painting can be shipped either rolled in a tube or stretched on stretcher bars, as agreed with the buyer. Please contact us to discuss the details. Each painting comes with a Certificate of Authenticity personally signed by Aleksandr Dubrovskyy.
