"Sunlight Serenade, Forest Glade" invites you on a tranquil walk through a peaceful woodland, where golden rays filter gently through the trees, illuminating a quiet clearing touched by distant summer light. The forest exudes an ethereal calm, bathed in soft greens and soothing blues. This painting is an invitation to go forest bathing — a meditative journey into a sylvan dream.
This one-of-a-kind painting is created using acrylic paints on a deep-edged canvas, offering a vibrant and enduring finish.
The creative process begins on location, where I observe directly from nature—sketching, taking notes, and capturing reference photographs. In the studio, the work unfolds intuitively. I start by laying down brush-painted base layers, gradually building texture and form through successive applications of impasto with a palette knife.
My technique draws from a blend of Impressionist optical mixing and time-honoured methods used by the old masters, such as scumbling and glazing. These layered approaches allow each piece to evolve organically, reaching a natural and harmonious conclusion over time.
The finished work is a contemporary composition that balances abstraction and realism. The palette knife strokes, carefully applied, create a rich surface texture and a luminous quality often compared to stained glass or mosaic.
