“Midnight Walk” is an original acrylic on canvas painting, covered with a thin layer of resin to protect and boost the colours. It is one of my latest art works, created in 2018.
My inspiration comes from my last summer holiday in Bahamas – beautiful nature, hot weather and bright colours! I would not try to describe it poetically as I am not a poet but I hope that you can see it with my eyes through my paintings!
In this particular work I am trying to capture the power of the Atlantic Ocean. I am using deep dark colours to bow to the power of the ocean which keeps secrets, keeps life and entertains. Marine life of the Atlantic Ocean is amazing and I found there all these beautiful colours like ultra violet, grass green, white, yellow, grey and all diverse of blue colours. Walking on the beach in midnight when full moon, you could feel deep emotions.
I am using acrylic in this work because the paint has water base. It gives me the opportunity to mix watercolour techniques with texturing the paint when needed to represent better the connection between water fluidity and earth texture. The resin layer gives it a silky shine look which reflect the light. It reflect or mirrored as well your image into my painting. Through this I am trying to invite and mix my memories and inspirations with your own emotions.
