“Window View” is an original acrylic on canvas painting, covered with a thin layer of resin to protect and boost the colours. It is one of my latest art works, created in 2018.
My inspiration comes from my last summer holiday in Bahamas – beautiful nature, hot weather and bright colours! I would not try to describe it poetically as I am not a poet but I hope that you can see it with my eyes through my paintings!
In this particular work I am trying to capture the view from my hotel room in Paradise Island, Bahamas. I am using deep blue colours to bow to the power of the ocean. I found there all these beautiful colours like ultra violet and pink when the sun was rising; grey and all diverse of blue colours through breezy nights. Walking on the beach in midnight when full moon, you could feel deeply connected with the nature, its power and beauty.
I am using acrylic in this work because the paint has water base. It gives me the opportunity to mix watercolour techniques with texturing the paint when needed to represent better the connection between water fluidity and earth texture. The resin layer gives it a silky look which reflect the light. It reflect or mirrored as well the viewer image into my painting. Through this I am trying to invite you to feel my memories; to mix my inspirations with your own emotions.
