About Natalia Shchipakina

1Exhibition

Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques, oil painting is my favourite.

Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by famous artists such as Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan and Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso.

About this artwork

This painting captures the figure of Hermes, the Greek god known for his speed and as the messenger of the gods. His winged helmet, symbolising his swiftness, is detailed, and the caduceus staff rests against his shoulder, a symbol of harmony and balance. The background, a blend of warm and cool tones, evokes the colours of a sunrise, suggesting the beginning of a new journey or message. Oil, canvas. Signed and varnished.
