The painting depicts a cheerful Satyr playing Pan's flute. These forest deities, who, according to mythology, inhabited the Greek islands, were the retinue of the god Dionysus. As is known, Satyrs led a very idle and free way of life, not paying attention to numerous human taboos. It was Satyrs in the retinue of Dionysus personified fun, idleness, pleasures and passion for wine. Oil, canvas. Signed. Varnished.
