About Natalia Shchipakina
Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favourite.
Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso.
The painting Girl on the Ball made a big impression on me in my childhood.

I imagined a small village somewhere near the border of France and Spain, with red roofs and quiet streets. In the center stands an old windmill. When its blades begin to turn, it feels like the mountain wind — the tramontana — comes to life and moves through the valley. This work is inspired by the energy and movement of Vincent van Gogh, especially in the sky, where the wind seems almost visible. Oil, canvas. Signed. Varnished.
