Mojito Blues, 2023

Original surrealistic oil painting.

No idea where it came from... but now I started to think about, trying to understand how it happened. Well, it must be some kind of self-portrait. Two of these girls are looking like me - red lips, green eyes, black hair. Several days ago I saw my old friend published something on Facebook and I was thinking about times we used to go out for a glass of mojito. Next - swimming duck. Last month my daughter brought home one and now I have it standing on my sink in the bathroom. Red beads and flowers on head - it must be Ukrainian traditional things, just transformed a bit, and traffic light. It's for sure about my crazy neighbour here in Limburg. He is actually quite nice person but he has an antique shop around the corner and I adore old things and he has this amazing East Germany traffic light with puppets inside. It's my old dream. The price was rather high for me, but I was ready to buy this traffic light immediately, because it's in good condition and I always wanted exactly this thing but when I said I want to pay, this guy just said "not for sale". How? Why? It has the price on it so, since September I am watching this amazing traffic light in his shop, with same price on it, but he doesn't want to sell... probably this story also influenced me during painting this small pic so -
it's a nice tiny picture, ready to hang. I also painted nicely the edges because they are rather wide. Honestly, I like it myself because it's cool even without this weird description, sorry :)
