Spectators, 2026

Seen at Trafalgar Square London, two young women watching street entertainers just below the terrace of the National Gallery. The location always attracts interesting crowds and the different emotional responses of the two women to the same action interested me. I mentally log and record the scene and snatch some photographs. To translate this into painting and not a slavish replication is always the goal.
